Introducing our fantastic demo artists for the upcoming Prosthetics Event! Celebrating innovation and talent in the world of prosthetic makeup, Neill’s Materials are delighted to showcase the incredible talents of these artists. Each one of them brings a unique perspective to special effects makeup which is evident in their work. Experience their live demonstrations and gather inspiration as you watch their creative processes unfold on our stand, this year at The Prosthetics Event.
Steinar Kaarstein
Steinar Kaarstein is a self-taught artist who started working with props and special effects makeup in 2001. His first breakthrough occurred when the Norwegian zombie comedy film ‘Dead Snow’ (directed by Tommy Wirkola) released in 2009. Since then, Steinar has worked on countless theatre productions, TV puppets, performance artists, commercials and films. Most notably, he was apart of Conor O’Sullivan’s creature effects team on Antman 3 – applying the prosthetic pieces produced by fellow artist Jim Udenberg and team. Now one of the leading special effects makeup artists in Norway, we are delighted to showcase Steinar’s demo at The Prosthetic Event. Henning Moen will also be joining us as Steinar’s model, with Live Becker assisting the demonstration.

Richard Martin
We’re pleased to announce that Prosthetic Designer Richard Martin will be joining us again this year at The Prosthetic Event. Richard specialises in creating prosthetics for film, TV and other medias. Recently, he has been working on Sky TV’s Gangs of London season 2 and 3. This Prosthetics Event, he will be creating a torture/trauma look in the style of Gangs of London which definitely won’t be one to miss!
RMFX, founded by Richard Martin in 2010, is a company that specialises in creating character prosthetics for film, TV and other medias as well as statues, busts and waxworks for museums, toy and collectable companies. In addition to this, they also work within the medical and entertainment industries, always utilising the latest technology to provide the highest quality results.

Begona “BB” Fernandez Martin
Begona is a freelance artist with a focus on Special Make-up Effects, prosthetics, character and creature design.
She studied Fine Arts at the University of Seville, with a major in Sculpture, Anatomy, and Drawing. After graduating from Winchester School of Art and getting her Masters in Art Photography at the University of Arts London, she enrolled in Neill Gorton’s Prosthetics Boot Camp in order to push her career forward. She has also studied sculpture with Tom Hester (designer of Shrek), and Illustration & Creature Design with artist Jared Fajardo.
In 2019 Begona was selected as the Winner of Ve Neil’s Legends of Makeup Desing scholarship (LA, USA), Finalist of the KNB EFX Group Legends of Creature Design (LA, USA), and Winner of The Prosthetics Event AS Make-up contest (UK).
She now works as a freelance Special Makeup Effects and Prosthetics Artist, Sculptor, and Illustrator, and occasionally as a teacher for Universities across the UK, and independent courses/modules.
Begona’s professional work encompasses Film & TV productions, music videos & music bands, including (but not limited to!) Disney, Netflix, Warner Brothers, and the BBC, Bring Me the Horizon, Enter: Shikari, Soen, and also several independent films across the UK and Europe. She is often a guest at events (such as The Prosthetics Event, Comic-Con events across Europe, etc) where she does live SFX make-up demonstrations on stage.
She is also the author of the only prosthetics-related book for cosplayers “Special Makeup Effects and Prosthetics: An Essentials Guide for Beginners and Cosplayers”, aimed at newcomers and cosplayers interested in special effects, and featuring a diverse range of models and skin tones.

Dan Frye
Dan Frye started his career at 14 in New York City, doing makeup for local theatre companies. He worked as Key Makeup Artist on a variety of low budget films such as Brain Damage, Frankenhooker and Basketcase 2. Focusing on workshop lab work and prosthetics, he moved to Los Angeles to work on such films as Terminator2, Ghostbusters 2, Leprechaun, Last Action Hero and Nightmare on Elm Street 5.
Dan is a highly skilled mould maker, painter, sculptor, and prosthetic makeup artist. Moving to London in 1994, he worked on films including Shaun of the Dead, Resident Evil, The Cottage, Nanny McPhee, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Troy, Alexander, Clash of the Titans and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2. His theatre credits include Matthew Bournes Nutcracker, Wicked, and various productions for the National Theatre-The U.N. Inspector, Henry V and Theatre of Blood. Dan has also worked for museums and retail display venues such as Imperial War Museum, London Dungeon, Harrods windows, Selfridges windows and Disney Stores.
More recent film and television credits include Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, The Harry Hill Movie, Victor Frankenstein and Slaughterhouse Rulez.
Dan is also a Lecturer at University College Birmingham on the SHMM program. He has been an Associate Lecturer at London College of Fashion and University of Bedfordshire, and has been a teacher for Gorton Studio, The Iver Academy, Brushstroke, Creative Media Skills ,Titanic Creative Management ,Christine Blundell Makeup Academy. Also holding master classes/talks at the DEC/Tom Savini School, Maskoon Film Festival/ Beirut, Motelx Film Festival/Lisbon, Glasgow Film Festival, York College, Sheffield College, Crosskeys/Coleg Gwent, University Centre Grimsby and Fauno Makeup School /Taipei, Taiwan
He has also held demonstrations for PAM, Gorton Studio, TILT makeup and Neills Materials for IMATs. We are delighted to welcome back Dan Frye to The Prosthetics Event where he will be demonstrating a female android assassin, with lenses made by Cantor & Nissel.

Assistant Millissa Morris
During the pandemic, Millissa re-entered the world of education and completed a Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Media Makeup Artistry, where she unleashed her passions for prosthetics and SFX.
Now, Millissa is qualified with a BA Hons level 5 Specialist Hair and Makeup and she has just continued her level 6 at University College Birmingham. The support from the UCB Hired team and their placements have enabled Millissa to collaborate with photographer Andy Kruczek, to showcase a proven track record of upholding vast knowledge of onset TV, Film, and SFX makeup skills. This led Millissa to create the Black Diamonds Creations Team consisting of placement makeup artists, who have created some outstanding work together.
With nearly three years of extensive experience supporting smaller onset TV and film crews, Millissa has recently worked with international local Birmingham- homegrown band UB40 for their Commonwealth Games 2022 tribute song. As well as this, we look forward to welcoming Millissa to this years Prosthetic Event where she will be assisting her lecturer, Dan Frye.

Will Harvey (MonsterFX)
MonsterFX, a supplier in film quality silicone prosthetics, has prepared an exciting collaboration of artists for this year’s prosthetics event!
Combining the world of cosplay with film, step into the Multiverse as Will Harvey brings to life a magical Marvel legend on a Benedict Cumberbatch lookalike @cumbermatch.
With prosthetics sculpted by @ashley_alexander_powell, contact lenses by @cantornissel, teeth by @fangsfx and more! We are looking forward to having Will Harvey and @the_craft_mua demo on our stand this year. Witness them apply everything live in front of your eyes!

Eliza Bergchauzen
Since she was 14 years old, Eliza has dreamt of becoming a Prosthetic Makeup Artist. She was raised in Poland where there wasn’t an official place to study Prosthetic Makeup. However, she persevered and learnt a lot of makeup, hair styling, and very basic Prosthetic Makeup techniques. During this time, Eliza was also studying Psychology at University and later graduated with a Master’s degree.
In 2012, Eliza graduated from Makeup school and began taking on every job that was coming her way. In 2014, she took on a full time job as a Prosthetic Makeup Assistant in the long-running TV show ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’. She spent the next 5 years there, learning and experimenting every day. In 2016, Eliza was already an independent Prosthetic Makeup Artist and was carrying out the whole process from sculpting, mould making, running silicone and applying on set.
Eliza worked in large Polish productions as a Prosthetic Makeup Designer, but also as a Makeup Designer, Makeup Artist, and a Hair Artist from time to time. She has worked as a Prosthetic Makeup Designer for series such as ‘High Water’, ‘A Girl and an Astronaut’, ‘Erin’, ‘The Mire’, and movies ‘Silent Twins’, ‘Doppelganger – Sobowtor’, ‘Our Folks. Beginning’ and, ‘David and the Elves’. As well as working as a Prosthetic Makeup Artist for ‘Furioza’, ‘Broad Peak’, ‘I’m a Killer’ and more. In 2019, Eliza decided to open her own studio @bergchauzenfsx in Warsaw, Poland.
In 2022, when Eliza was working as a Crowd Hair Artist on the new ‘Hunger Games’, she realised working in Poland wasn’t right for her anymore. She began looking for jobs abroad and focusing on her portfolio. Since then, she has worked in Turkey as a Prosthetic Makeup Designer for the upcoming Netflix series ‘Ersan Kuneri II’. As well as in the UK, Czech Republic, Italy, Hungary and Belgium as a Prosthetic Makeup Artist for productions that have not yet been released. At the beginning of 2023, Eliza began working for Millennium FX.
We can’t wait to welcome Eliza to this years Prosthetic Event where she will be holding a demo on our stand with assistant Zuzanna Kępczyńska and model Ewelina Cnota!
