The two most popular mediums for sculpting prosthetic appliances are Chavant NSP and this plastiline. You’ll frequently see photographs of prosthetics created in UK studios modelled in this dark grey wax based modelling clay. Like Chavant NSP it can be melted in a wax boiler of croc pot and poured or brushed in to life casts or directly on to armatures. It’s less sticky than Chavant NSP and has no inhibition issues. It comes in different grades of hardness and also in an ivory colour but we’re currently only stocking the grade 55 in grey as this is both the most popular colour and hardness for sculpting prosthetics. We also do a bust paint colour matched to this clay.
